Baldi’s Basics in Education and Learning is a unique indie horror that offers a surrealistic and entertaining experience. Game’s graphics may not be top-notch, it certainly doesn’t detract from the captivating storyline. In this game, the protagonist’s friend accidentally leaves behind seven notebooks at their local school. Due to a time constraint, he asks the protagonist to retrieve them instead. Upon arrival at the school, the player encounters Baldi, one of the teachers, who presents them with math problems for each notebook found (three problems per book). If the player answers correctly, Baldi offers a reward. However, Baldi quickly becomes agitated and starts chasing the player if they fail to solve the problems. To successfully navigate through the school and locate the missing notebooks, the protagonist must evade other students and overcome various obstacles.

Moreover, the game features an alternate ending for players who intentionally answer the questions incorrectly. This ending involves encounters with a distorted version of Baldi and another hidden character who urges the player to destroy the game before it closes. Naturally, completing this objective is no easy task, as Baldi has numerous friends lurking around different corners of the ill-fated school. Understanding their behaviors is crucial to avoiding unwanted encounters. Each character in the game possesses distinct traits and behaviors, adding depth and complexity to the gameplay.

As you progress through the game’s levels, you will need to search for and utilize different items to solve quests and quizzes. It is important to note that answering questions incorrectly will frustrate Baldi, ultimately complicating level progression and notebook retrieval. Within the school building, you will encounter various classrooms, restrooms, and a gymnasium, all of which hold potential clues. Beware of painted signs or pointers on the walls, though, as they may divert your attention and mislead you.

Controlling the game is straightforward. Use the mouse to observe your surroundings, while the W, A, S, D keys allow you to move forward, backward, and sideways. To interact with objects and open doors, simply click the button. Right-click and scroll the mouse, select the item wheel and inspect them.
